A Bachelors Degree in Construction Management is for students who are looking for a hands-on, practical degree. Students will develop the technical and leadership skills necessary to meet the needs of this dynamic profession.

Considered one of the best programs of its kind in the nation, the Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management is nationally accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). Emphasis is on course work which enables graduates to develop:

  • Technical skills necessary to define and solve practical construction problems
  • Managerial skills necessary to make and implement sound and timely decisions
  • Broader perspectives of humanities, social, and natural sciences
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

The interdisciplinary CM curriculum includes a mix of technical, managerial, and business courses to provide graduates with the essential skills to be successful in the construction industry. The first two years of our undergraduate program can be completed at the University of Washington (or other 4-year institutions) or at a community college. Emphasis is on a broad educational foundation and includes engineering graphics, accounting, business law, economics, physics, mathematics, geology, statistics, speech, English, social sciences, and humanities.

The upper-division curriculum includes structural analysis and design, construction methods and materials, mechanical and electrical systems, safety, estimating, project planning and control, and project management.
