Construction Management Intern

Krueger Sheet Metal is looking for a Construction Management Intern to contribute to the construction operations team that works on various high-profile projects in the greater Seattle area. A successful intern will be creative, take initiative, is able to be self-directed and adapt to the fast pace of the construction industry. Our interns will gain valuable skills and on-the-job experience while learning from expert professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Estimating Support
    1. Maintain bid log
    2. Apply for bid bonds
    3. Prepare bid packages
    4. Assist in take offs
  2. Project Engineering Support
    1. Assist project manager with assembling submittals
    2. Track submittals throughout review process
    3. File submittals electronically as they are returned
    4. Create submittal binders for field staff
    5. Assist in writing and tracking RFIs and responses
    6. Track COPs and extra work requests
    7. Assist in close-out submittals and process
    8. Performs job site follow-ups with project manager
  3. Shop Drawings
    1. Knowledge or ability to learn AutoCAD for shop drawing submittals with help from other staff and direction from project manager

Required Skills & Experience

  • In the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management or an equivalent degree program
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Basic Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus
