MetroStructure is currently accepting application for a new residential construction Site Supervisor position. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have the ability to manage projects and deadlines effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently with others at all level of the organization is critical.

The right candidate will have:

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience as a supervisor in the residential construction industry with 10 years of collective experience in construction OR completion (or near completion) of a Construction Management Degree.
  • Minimum high school or equivalent; college degree a plus.
  • Working knowledge of building trades, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, building codes, and industry technical manuals.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and materials on the jobsite.
  • Experience using mobile email and applications, and willingness to adapt to electronic reporting.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills.
  • Dependable transportation (preferably a pickup truck) and a valid WA state driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, organize, motivate and lead a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain order at the job site.

Position Duties: The Site Supervisor is the onsite representative and is responsible to coordinate and verify all activities as they occur on the project. The site supervisor will provide additional field support as requested.

  • Work with Project Manager to implement construction activity from start to finish, safely on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate subcontractor’s activities and monitor their progress, performance, and quality of work. Meets subcontractors for layout, planset clarification, problem solving, etc.
  • Responsible for cost control, materials management, and procurement.
  • Inspect work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Manage and monitor performance of subcontractors across multiple projects.
  • Inspect work sites and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes.
  • Direct and supervise labor force.
  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with and enforcing codes
  • Establish and maintain high staff morale, solid leadership, and teamwork.
  • Trouble-shoot and identify construction related problems; offer timely and safe solutions.
  • Exercise control over scheduling and construction progress to complete projects. Ensure project follows established schedule and proceeds forward in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and schedule all job inspections.
  • Maintain plans, specifications, and as-built drawings at the job site.
  • Project documentation and reporting with attention to detail.
  • Participate in leadership and safety training classes as requested

This is a full-time position, working primarily on job sites throughout Seattle with some time spent in our office. Compensation is DOE. Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
